Multi-Racial Food Festival (16/5/2010)

Sizzling ‘sisig’ from Philippines, mouth-watering ‘mohinga’ from Myanmar, tantalising ‘tom yum’ soup from Thailand – these were some of the yummies dished out during the Multi-Racial Food Festival held at Block 223A last Sunday.

Residents looking forward to the event started arriving as early as 1.45pm. It doesn’t take long before all the seats were taken up.

The karaoke session started shortly and we have residents going up the stage to entertain us. Oh yes! We had songs from different countries too!

Meanwhile, volunteers were seen busy preparing and arranging the food. Awww … when can we start sampling the food???

It was an honour to have our Senior Minister of State, Ms. Grace Fu joining us in this event.

Time to tickle our taste-buds!

Well, the children were not left out too - We have red-carpet specially for them ...

... and fun time with the flag game!

The 'Face-Change' performance never fail to amused the crowd and kept them anticipating the next change.

An Indian classical dance performed to the lively beat of the drum.

The event ended with a Bingo game and 5 prizes were given away. Congrats to the winners!

January and Feburary events -my thoughts

It seems not too long when we celebrated our Year End function, where we welcome New Year 2010. There were many joyful events organised both at the RC and CC levels. Some of these pictures can be found in the YUHUA Family Facebook.
Events like our MP visiting the old folk's homes, brought joy and happiness in their life, the Recycling event contributed to saving the world for our many future generations.
The Bursary awards which inspired the students to work harder and reducing the financial situation at home, block parties were organised to bring togetherness, harmony among neighbours and friends. Spring cleaning and painting conducted not only your own house , but also on other houses.

These happenings would not have been materialised without our dedicated volunteers, whom gave part of their time, to ensure the less fortunate or the less happy people, to come near or on par, in our daily lives.

In order to do more charitable works, we are looking our for more volunteers to join us and partake in our activities to bring joy, happiness to our neighbours and friends.
