Fun Walking - 19/3/2011

“Come and join us tomorrow…”, Auntie said to me as she handed me a bright green T-shirt. Before I could ask her any question, her sharp eyes were already scanning my tummy. “I think the ‘XL’ tee will fit you better”, she concluded. Her reason for wanting me to join the walk suddenly became obvious. With a grin, I thanked her and promised to be there.

At 7.25am the next morning, I grabbed my camera and headed straight to Block 223A hardcourt to meet the Fun Walkers...

Simon leading the warming up session

Swaying the hip ...

Marching on the spot ...

And finally taking a deep breath before starting the walk.

Hey, even a 2 year old kid can join.

Taking a short rest after the walk.

Distributing some goodies.

Everyone had a great time!

Come and Join us in our next Fun Walk

Forhtcoming activities

As much as I can keep up updating constantly, I am always bog down by either work, guitar playing and community work.
Anyway, in this week, there will be a rice distribution of one 7kg package delivers
to old, needy familes in YUHUA on the 15th Jan.
This was only possible through a kind donation from a temple in Jalan Bahar, which provides 5000 packages. To meet the criteria for the free rice, anyone in your family, from 60 and above, qualify to get a package. Distribution starts from 2pm to 5pm.at RC office. Coordinated by Mr Soh GS and his team.

On the 16th Jan, EMB ceremony will be held in the hall of the CC. There will be 2 session(9.30am and 2pm) in the whole ceremony. Coordinated by Ms Ong Min Hui and her team.

Multi-Racial Food Festival (16/5/2010)

Sizzling ‘sisig’ from Philippines, mouth-watering ‘mohinga’ from Myanmar, tantalising ‘tom yum’ soup from Thailand – these were some of the yummies dished out during the Multi-Racial Food Festival held at Block 223A last Sunday.

Residents looking forward to the event started arriving as early as 1.45pm. It doesn’t take long before all the seats were taken up.

The karaoke session started shortly and we have residents going up the stage to entertain us. Oh yes! We had songs from different countries too!

Meanwhile, volunteers were seen busy preparing and arranging the food. Awww … when can we start sampling the food???

January and Feburary events -my thoughts

It seems not too long when we celebrated our Year End function, where we welcome New Year 2010. There were many joyful events organised both at the RC and CC levels. Some of these pictures can be found in the YUHUA Family Facebook.
Events like our MP visiting the old folk's homes, brought joy and happiness in their life, the Recycling event contributed to saving the world for our many future generations.
The Bursary awards which inspired the students to work harder and reducing the financial situation at home, block parties were organised to bring togetherness, harmony among neighbours and friends. Spring cleaning and painting conducted not only your own house , but also on other houses.

These happenings would not have been materialised without our dedicated volunteers, whom gave part of their time, to ensure the less fortunate or the less happy people, to come near or on par, in our daily lives.

In order to do more charitable works, we are looking our for more volunteers to join us and partake in our activities to bring joy, happiness to our neighbours and friends.
