Phase 2 - Covid 19

Hi everyone, in the beginning of this Year 2020, we expected a lot of exciting things happening as our RC gone through an upgrade in 2019. The facilities and rooms have been spruced up. However, COVID-19 came and put all things to halt. We are now, in Phase 2. Life is coming back, but safety measures are in place, to ensure that the virus do not come back again. Meanwhile, Government has been providing various support to the people, through grants and job opportunities to people, whom lost their jobs. Food meal programs arises in Yuhua, to support the needy,vulnerable elderly, if they find difficulties to obtain cooked food from their caregivers, who were not allow to visit their elderly parents. So, we need to help our residents to be safe as they are the most vulnerable. Thank you for being with us all the time. Simon Wong Vice Chair

Hi, greeting from us again. It's Aug 2019. New committee, new friends, great bonding. Our RC has been renovated last year. New courses were introduced.Received rave reviews. Year 2015 ending..

Hi, Year 2015 is coming to it's end. We'll be celebrating the coming of Year 2016. Much have been happening ,but I could not put much in the blog ,as we have a raving hot FB. As you may have not know that we have a FB page, which gives you the latest happenings around the estate. Nevertheless, look out on out forthcoming GRL events regarding Charity Rice distribution,Bursary Awards, flea market, Vertical Marathon. Also, look out for our New RC Office in next year... ALIVE AGAIN

Hi readers, Been missing for a whole year, or 2. It's 2015 now. What a start of new year and then follow by Chinese New Year then Chingay 2015. People asked funny questions, as to why Chingay 2015 was not fully Chinese-theme. Why are the ang mohs taking part in the event. Why is there no Chinese cultural displays instead. Aiyoh.. They probably forget that we lived in a multi racial society. Then, we had our 1st CNY STEAMBOAT dinner at our 223A void deck. We have only 10 tables and out of 10 tables, 2 tables were allocated to needy families in our zone. Food was plenty and there wa almost a disaster. The caterer came wthout the radish and thankfully, some of the members saved the evening as they prepared the radish for another event the next day, so we escaped the wrath of the guests. Life goes on.. We looked forward to the completion of our Community Plaza in April and meanwhile, we will attending a team bonding workshop this weekend. Till then, we keep you update, lah..

NEW HAPPENING

Hi, I'm back again.

It had been a busy year or most of us.We have been putting new ideas in action. We set up the Karaoke Room again. We invested about $3000 getting in a singing console consisting 39000 songs, redecorate the place with seating capacity of 21. We tried to built the room to total soundproof but unfortunaely we could only achieve 90% to 95%. However to much relief and teamwork, our customers were satisfied with the whole thing. We were debating on the entrance cost and at the same time, searching for a KJ for 2 day work. In the end , we found David who have been a great help, even though experience was not there.

Next, we became the health promoting RC which we organized healthy cooking and conduct health talks since Febuary 2013. This area were headed by Ms Halipah, whom have been busied sourcing out good topics for our residents. We even purchased a BMI machine to carry out resident's BMI reading.

We have been introducing new courses like Wing Chun, Art Class for young. Turnout good.
But we were still looking for more interesting courses for our residents.
We are still learning to be better.

Living Good Fun Walkers activity on 16th May 2012

Hey, I'm back again after an exhaustive year away. We were involved in some exciting projects hold at CC, we sometimes, took its toll on all of us. Recently, we had just completed the Open House, which provide an insight of our activities at the RC, to the audience. We featured our current and future programmes like Wushu, TKD (STF and STA), Line Dance, Fusion Arts, Chinese tuition class. Going forward, we are looking out for young people to learn voice training and to form a Choir group for Yuhua. Also in the pipeline, we will want to introduce Wing Chun and Basic Guitar Playing. Our LG Fun Walking Club walks on every 3rd Saturday morning from 7.30 onwards.Prior, there were warm up exercises and games. We had also formed a LG Fun Walkers Welfare Group, which aim to help Zone 4 needy residents, whom to shy or not know where to seek for help. We encouraged residents to bring down items ,where we can sell to the karang guni man. With the money, we will buy commodities eg rice, cooking oil, biscuits, can foods,etc for the needy families. On the 19th May , we carried out the 1st distribution to our needy famillies. Please view the pictures below. Please also see the forth coming events in RC and CC.

Block Party - 19/03/2011

I felt uneasy. Dark clouds were forming. The roaring thunder added to my anxiety. Minutes after I left the house, huge raindrops started catapulting the ground. I brisked along the passageway towards the event venue. From afar, I saw the owner of the battery operated animal ride busy herding her ‘animals’ away from the rain. The inflatable children’s playground is fast filling up with water. The tents were no match for the merciless rain and the occasional gust of wind. The food stalls have to be moved away from the splashing rain.

It’s 2.23pm. The music was still drowned by the sound of the falling rain. Volunteers and stallholders outnumbered the residents. We waited patiently.

Finally the rain subsided. Colourful umbrellas started emerging from different corners of surrounding blocks. The mood changed and the party began …
